The renovation of the Forum des Halles was completed in 2017 after more than seven years of works that transformed the look of this 150-store shopping mall. With almost 43 million visitors a year, the Forum des Halles could become the busiest shopping mall in Europe. Plafometal contributed to the renovation of the mall by supplying the outdoor ceilings installed above the escalators at the Rambuteau and Berger entrances that descend into the mall from street level.
The Plafometal panels installed over the exits from the shopping mall were made to measure in harmony with the architect’s project. The anodized aluminum Horus panels have a satin gold finish, giving the ceiling a unique color that matches the metal structure of La Canopée perfectly.
149 metal panels were made to measure for the project in different large sizes (from 990 x 1,300 mm to 1,480 x 1,230 mm) and installed in an overlapping, fish scale-like configuration.
The damp-proof and wind-proof panels are ideally suited to installation outdoors.
